What News Bug covers
News Bug is an independent website covering small business basics for UK founders: choosing a business structure, tax and accounts, running a business day to day, and business finance, alongside a broader mix of articles on fashion, home, travel and technology.
Who it is for
We write for people starting or running a small business in the UK, and curious readers who like to know how everyday things work. Our aim is to explain things clearly, in plain English, and to point you to the official source when a rule or a figure matters.
How our articles are researched
Articles are researched from published sources. For anything involving the law, tax or money, such as business structures, tax, VAT and company law, we work from primary and official sources wherever possible, including GOV.UK, legislation.gov.uk, HMRC and the relevant regulators, and we link to them in the article so you can check the detail yourself. Figures that change, such as tax rates and thresholds, are dated to the year they apply to.
Our writers publish under the bylines shown on each article, and each author page describes the subjects that writer covers. We do not claim professional qualifications we do not have, and nothing on News Bug is personal financial, legal or tax advice. If a decision matters, check the official guidance or speak to a qualified adviser.
